Karin Price Mueller
is a New Jersey-based writer with a specialty in personal finance and consumer issues. She tackles complicated money
questions with an easy-to-digest style, providing financial advice for beginners and seasoned investors alike.
Karin writes a weekly consumer affairs column called Bamboozled for The Star-Ledger, New Jersey's largest newspaper.
Also for the Ledger, she writes a weekly money makeover column called Get With The Plan and the Ask The Biz Brain column.
Karin regularly contributes to publications including Entrepreneur.com, SecondAct.com and the National Endowment for Financial
Education (NEFE). She also hosted and wrote "Money 911,'' a multimedia series for MSN Money, in which Karin helped
participants solve their money emergencies. She started this site for readers to have a one-stop shop for all of her work.
Before writing became her main focus, she was the executive producer of
CNBC's The Money Club, where she led the team that won the network's first ever Cable ACE Award for Business
and Consumer Programming.
When she's not writing money stories,
Karin juggles her at-home duties as mom to three, family budgeteer, chocolate chip pancake master, carpooler, social director,
tutor and Harry Potter/Star Wars factchecker. Then there's the ongoing task of explaining to her shopaholic
sister why it's better to put that $500 in an IRA instead of buying those designer strappy sandals.
Karin lives in New Jersey with her husband, three kids, two guinea pigs and one Beta
fish. Whatever they don't eat goes into Karin's retirement savings accounts.
